Micky Ward’s perfect body shot against Alfonso Sanchez (1997)
When ‘Irish Micky’ (US) went up against the undefeated Alfonso Sanchez (Mexico) the fight went much as had been anticipated. Sanchez dominated the fight for six rounds. In round 7 that all changed when Ward delivered a perfect body blow to the mid section and Sanchez hit the deck hard.
Micky Ward’s story was immortalised in the 2010 film ‘The Fighter’.

Anthony Joshua knocks out Dillian Whyte for the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight title (2015)
Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua suffered an amateur defeat against Whyte earlier in his career, and had trouble in the opening of the match. By the seventh round Joshua had broken down his rival considerably and eventually floored him with an impressive uppercut.
Joshua currently holds the British and Commonwealth titles and looks set for even bigger things. Some are speculating about a potentially match-up with former WBA champion David Haye.
Luis Ortiz (Cuba) knocks out Bryant Jennings (US) in a brutal heavyweight clash (2015)
After a heated match Luis Ortiz sent Bryant Jennings down face-first with a left uppercut, but somehow Jennings managed to get back to his feet before the count finished.
He lived to regret it; Ortiz then landed several punches that sent Jennings into the ropes and forced the referee to halt the match in round 7, as Ortiz mounted the turnbuckle and beat his chest.
7th round stoppage of Chris Eubank Jr. (GB) vs. Gary O’Sullivan (Ireland) (2015)
This fight between the son of former world champion Chris Eubank and Gary O’Sullivan was well-anticipated as the pair had several crossed words in the past. Eubank set the pace but O’Sullivan showed great resilience to his punches.
Even O’Sullivan confessed that Chris Eubank Jr was the better fighter on the day, and by round 7 he was looking sluggish and not landing punches. O’Sullivan retired in the seventh round to fight another day.
Tyson Fury comes back against Steve Cunningham in New York (2013)
Tyson Fury moved a step closer to a world heavyweight title when he knocked out American Steven Cunningham in the seventh round. Fury didn’t start strong. He was floored in the second round for only the second time in his career, but came back in the seventh round with a right hook that sent Cunningham down onto the canvas and out of the match.
