his morning I had a session with a dear friend of mine. He’s a wizard. Now, I don’t say this colloquially. Truly, this man is magic. And I’m so grateful I know him.

We had a session where he challenged all the beliefs that I’ve held that have been holding me back lately (truly, all my life).

Now, let me just say that I think I’m a pretty self-aware individual. I often question my emotions and my reactions to people and circumstances. However, we often have blindspots that require a readjustment of the mirror or a quick turn of the head to really see what’s lurking behind.

And that’s why I set up a session with my wizardy friend. It’s simple on the surface, what he does. He asks me questions and then he has me check in to the truth of the statement. But what’s happening behind the scenes is a whole different story.

My Jedi-wizard friend goes into the energetic grid and he finds where I’m holding blocks and he helps bring them to light. He helps free me from my own personal straightjacket.

Now, I don’t have the training that he has had, but he’s given me a set of tools (questions) to help set myself free. It’s basically the teachings of most spiritual texts. (Byron Katie has helpful books about personal discovery through self-inquiry.)

So what did I learn from my experience with my friend and all of my years of journeying into personal development?

That questions will set you free.

Taking a look in the psychological mirror and seeing the monkey thoughts that perpetrate your daily life will allow you to see what is holding you back from a happier, more fulfilled life.

By questioning everything, you begin to realize that you don’t even believe half of the things your brain is telling you. We have accumulated so much dust and trash over the years from other people that we don’t realize we’re still holding onto outdated belief systems

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of it. I don’t want to feel less than because my family made me feel that way growing up. I’m ready to break free of this paradigm of shame that I’ve created and reinforced over the past 31 years of my life.

And how do I do that? Exactly.
