Alchemy Pricing Update

Developer-first, always.

At Alchemy, our mission is to empower all blockchain developers.

It’s why we’ve created products like Supernode and Build that enable developers, from solo devs completing their first walkthrough to 5-year veterans at 0x, to build better products faster.

But it’s not enough to create powerful tools. Those tools also need to be as accessible as possible. It’s for this reason that today, we’re taking the most powerful free product in blockchain, and kicking it up a notch.

The TL;DR

We’re updating our pricing to give dramatically more power to you, for free.

The New Free: 2.5x more compute per month included, access to new enhanced APIs, and oh yeah… it’s still completely free!

The New Growth: 5x more compute per month included, paying less as you scale, so you can grow to any size without ever talking to a sales person.

Free -> Freer

No developer human likes paywalls.

We took that to heart when we designed our first free tier, and included basically every product and feature we have to offer for no additional cost. Even complex, expensive features like full Archive Data, developer tooling, and analytics are available to all everyone for free.

Customer love for Archive Data ❤️

And our users love it! So much so that the number and size of users on Alchemy has grown far faster than we expected.

It’s clear to us that our users want even more — so we’re more than doubling the number of requests included in our free plan, from 10 million to 25 million compute units per month.

Not only will this allow existing users to do more of their magic, it will also make new and ecosystem-critical use cases like connecting an ETH 2.0 node 100% free.

As part of this update, we’re also moving the ‘Autoscale’ feature to only the Growth tier, so the Free tier can remain forever, unambiguously free. But don’t worry — free users already using ‘Autoscale’ will be grandfathered in to the feature.

We’re also opening up access to Alchemy’s enhanced APIs to all Alchemy users. This means that game-changing functions like our Token API, Transfers API, and custom Mempool APIs will be available to everyone for free.

All Scale. No Sale.

Inevitably, some Alchemy users will need even more as they scale out their products. This is where Growth comes in — with higher dedicated throughput and the ability to autoscale, it’s the perfect fit for any team looking to grow quickly.

To make this even more developer friendly, we want to enable these teams to grow forever, without ever having to talk to a sales person. We’re doing this in two key ways:

  1. Increasing the included Growth capacity by 500%
  2. Adding new scaling discounts, so you can pay less as you use more

With these updates a production you can dramatically less for the same usage as you scale. We want to empower teams to grow their products from their first to their millionth user (and beyond), on a single, affordable plan.

What’s Next?

The blockchain ecosystem is only as strong as it’s developers, so we’ll continue our mission to support the amazing talent building Web3 with the most powerful and accessible tools.

There are many, many exciting updates to the Alchemy platform already in store for 2021, but we’d love to hear what we can do to improve your life as a blockchain developer. Drop us a line at support@alchemyapi.io, and let us know how we can help!
