Exeedme Partners With Aleph.im: Decentralized Gaming Meets Crosschain Storage
We are very excited to announce this partnership with Exeedme, a blockchain-powered tournament platform running on Polkadot, powered by DeFi (decentralized finance) via NFTs and fungible crypto assets.
“We are ecstatic to be partnering with aleph.im which is adding huge value to the NFT landscape by fully decentralizing NFTs” — Nuno Fernandes, Exeedme CEO
This is our third partnership (see 1 and 2, in the DeFi space) with a project building on the Parity Substrate framework — fully compatible with the Polkadot network — which reinforces our positioning in this groundbreaking ecosystem.
Aleph.im’s core mission is to help decentralized apps and protocols strip off the centralized parts of their stack, achieving a fully decentralized architecture. Our open-source ecosystem achieves this by providing decentralized databases (including file storage), computation and a DID (decentralized identification) framework. You can think of aleph.im as a decentralized AWS or Firebase.
What Is Exeedme?
Simply put, Exeedme is “The New Revenue Stream For Gamers” which translated in crypto-native language gives “The DeFi and NFT Powered Gaming Platform built on Polkadot”.
A blockchain-powered tournament platform that allows gamers, developers and gaming communities to monetize their skills and efforts with the power of DeFi and NTFs. Where gamers and XED stakers can earn XED and exclusive NFTs.
Exeedme successfully launched its token on Polkastarter and Uniswap on Dec 30th 2020 and is now focusing back on building and growing the community.
Exeedme is targeting the gaming industry estimated to a global market of $159 billion in revenue in 2020 and an audience of 2.7 billion gamers. It proposes a new business model called Play2Earn. Unlike the traditional Free2Play model where players are monetised based on ads and in-app purchases, the Play2Earn model rewards players of all levels. This also totally disrupts the current esport model that only rewards pro players who commit endless amounts of time.
How Will Exeedme Use Aleph.im Cloud Services?
“We will be exploring their decentralised database and file storage features to bring added value and protection to our NFTs ecosystem.” — Nuno Fernandes, Exeedme CEO
As explained in a previous blog post on Fully Decentralized NFTs with aleph.im, many DApps suffer partial centralization as their NFT metadata is too heavy to be put on any blockchain.
That’s where aleph.im comes in: it can host files of any size on its decentralized network, enabling projects to decentralized its cloud storage infrastructure. The end of an era and the start of a new one where cloud data is unstoppable, secure and run by an open-source permissionless peer-to-peer network.
