We’re excited to partner with Platterz, a markerplace for corporate catering.

Platterz booking engine makes corporate catering easy and fun. Their service offers an a la carte option for those that have specific needs (such as dietary), as well as an AI-powered meal builder, for those that prefer to be hands-off. They offer options from high quality and reliable caterers in the metropolitan areas they operate and don’t increase prices above what the caterer is offering, making it a good choice for even the most budget-conscious company.

Platterz was founded in Toronto by Eran Henig and Yishay Waxman, who’s vision was to make group meals as fun as opening up a Burger Ranch Combina with friends, on a day off from the Israeli army.

What’s exciting to us about the Platterz team is not just their growth and the market size for corporate catering and services; it’s their focus on quality in everything that they do. Because in this online corporate catering space, there’s an “easy” way to build a business and a “hard” way.

The “easy” way is to take a minimalistic approach to technology, personnel, and customer service, because, frankly, one can afford to — it’s a big market.

The “hard” way is to invest aggressively in first-class product and excellent operations, in order to build a big and lasting company. It is reflected in the quality of their growth (fast, with strong unit economics) and the quality of the people that they hire and work with (i.e. senior advisers such as Ran Makavy, the EVP of Growth at Lyft, and Jonathan Zabusky, the former President of GrubHub / Seamless).

The corporate catering industry is a big one and Platterz have built a strong online offering in an underserved market. They are a driven and hard-working team and we are proud to welcome them to the Aleph family.

They are currently in New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, and Waterloo, with many more cities coming soon. If you know of anyone ordering catering or group meals from an office — give them a shot!
