Sophia beingAI is the virtual, anime version of the world’s most loved and celebrated robot — Sophia. Sophia is the first robot citizen, a United Nations Development Programme Innovation Champion for Asia Pacific, a brand ambassador, a keynote speaker, and an internet celebrity. Sophia beingAI is a virtual manifestation of Sophia the Robot, created by beingAI under a perpetual license and co-branding partnership with Hanson Robotics. Sophia beingAI’s story is grounded in the heritage and origin story of Sophia the Robot. Sophia the Robot is an advanced human-like robot who personifies Hanson Robotics’ dreams for the future of AI. Sophia the Robot is both a science fiction character as well as a platform for advancing robotics and AI research. She is the world’s first robot citizen, activated on February 14th, 2016.
