Alethio’s Reporting feature provides users with on-demand access to aggregated historical blockchain datasets based on customizable queries & search parameters.

As the next piece in our series looking at the Alethio platform (check out our piece on the Alethio Explorer), we’re excited to dive into Alethio Reports. The Alethio platform provides users with a complementary set of sophisticated data access tools that address different use cases. Alethio Reports addresses the need to pull historical blockchain datasets on-demand based on customizable queries.

Alethio Blockchain Reports — check it out here!

Over the past couple years, we’ve interviewed hundreds of developers, DApp teams, and casual users to derive a long-form list of thousands of blockchain data queries — or, in other words, questions users are looking to answer with a blockchain dataset. Alethio Reports is the culmination of this research, empowering users to query the blockchain based on their specific needs via a compelling, intuitive interface and to easily pull (and refresh) relevant blockchain dataset in the format of their choosing (e.g., excel, Google Sheets, .csv).

This piece is meant to provide a deeper overview of Alethio Reports & its current capabilities. We will release additional content as new and exciting features come online!

Easily pull blockchain datasets, including DeFi!

Running a Report

  • Alethio Reports provides users with access to structured, semantic Ethereum data sets that are tailored to their specific business and research needs.
  • Rooted in Data Science, the queries are customizable and available on-demand.
  • Users can request reports via a simple and accessible web interface that are quickly processed by a distributed cluster-computing framework and delivered asynchronously.
  • Users are notified in their account and via emails as soon as the report is ready, so no need to waste time on a loading screen.

The Reporting functionality is more robust if you have created an account for the aleth.io platform. Through your account, you can access all the reports you have requested in the past, download or refresh the data sets, and edit your report configurations.

To create an account, go at reports.aleth.io, click on the login icon in the sidebar and follow the process. Creating an account removes the per-day report request limits currently set for unauthenticated users.

Key Features

Alethio Reporting allows you to extract knowledge from a full set of Ethereum on-chain data without having to deal with APIs or database structures. The reports are split in the following categories to help users broaden their analysis:

  • Network: Grants the user access to daily stats regarding the network, accounts, smart contract creation, and contracts destructed. These metrics can indicate ecosystem trends, network utilization, and quantity of activities happening on Ethereum.
  • Token: Allows users to export all transfers of any ERC token for a selected time frame and also various daily metrics regarding DAI and Uniswap.
  • Balances: Enables users to view all the changes of an account portfolio over a given time period.
  • Transaction: Makes available to users the messages triggered by smart contracts. The reports may help to monitor “whales” (i.e. large ETH holders and most active addresses), as well as the centralization of ETH holding.
  • Decentralized Finance (DeFi): Reports provide access to data regarding Airswap, MakerCDP, Compound, DAI stablecoin movements, and Augur.
  • Initial Coin Offerings (ICO): Allows users to gather data about crowsale records, fund movement, top contributor stats, and the initial token issuance.
  • Miners: Provides metrics about the miner community, including the number of miners and their income breakdown.
  • Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO): Offers visibility into Aragon votes gathered through a specified proposal.

We are constantly expanding this list based on users’ needs. If you are not able to retrieve the insight you need with our existing reports, just tell us what you’re missing and we will work to make it available.

Some Example Use Cases

  • Easily plug in traditional BI tools (e.g. Tableau) to interface with robust, real-time blockchain data via familiar interfaces.
  • Monitor key accounts & smart contracts, i.e. review all transactions of ETH and Ethereum-launched tokens.
  • See the big picture by subscribing to top account activities — including highest transaction volume, highest value per transaction, and gas paid.

Future plans

We’re consistently trying to release features in line with ecosystem needs. We will continuously integrate & make available new reports as requested by the community.

One of Alethio’s main focus areas is the visualization of data. Stay tuned for the ability to visualize your custom report data directly within the Alethio Reporting platform. In the next week we will roll out a sample visualization feature that allows users to preview sample datasets and visualizations / charts for each report.

And if you’re interested in constantly updating reports, keep an eye out for our launch of scheduled reports. This will allow you to receive automatic updates in the time interval you need — be it every day, week or month.

We are eager to learn more about your needs and to facilitate your search for knowledge. Do you need additional data in your report or an answer to a specific question our queries do not yet offer? Write us an email to support@aleth.io and let us know!
