5 Reasons I am Participating in Dry January in 2022
I am not sure what caused this to happen all of a sudden, but I feel like a lot of people I know are participating in dry January this year.
I recently came to the decision that I wanted to take a month to not drink any alcohol. Then, as I began talking about it with others, it seemed like many people I talked to responded with: “That’s awesome! I’m actually doing it myself too.”
This was confirmation I was making a good decision, but also motivation that we can all keep each other accountable.
There are many reasons I decided to participate in dry January myself, so below I have listed a few of the reasons.
Start the Year on a Good Foot
It might be cheesy, but we all want to start the year well. Right?
To me, it feels a bit like the life hack of wanting to “accomplish one task as soon as possible in the morning.”
If I successfully complete that one task first thing in the morning, like making my bed, then the ball gets rolling for continued successes throughout the day.
It builds a sense of pride and a feeling of “well, if I could do that task, I can do another, and another, and another.”
