The courage to stand out: Young Engineers Defeat Glaucoma
Behind all best inventions there has always been a reason.
The C3 Field Analyzer, which is now becoming popular among ophthalmologists too has a story. It all started in the brains of the young engineers of VIT University, Vellore. These students started their journey with toast makers for a colorful hostel life and interesting projects.
But later, a travel to an eye hospital changed the game. These students were shaken by the number of patients who visited the hospital for testing procedures. Long queues, hours of waiting, bulky instruments, time consuming tests. Although the hospital supported the patients in their best possible way, these students felt an urge to apply their skills as engineers to help the system.
On further researches, they happened to know about Glaucoma and existing testing methods. For people who don’t know what it is, Glaucoma also known as silent thief of sight, is a slow disease leading to permanent blindness. Reports suggest that up to 90% of cases goes undiagnosed in India. Although complete cure has never been discovered, early detection and cure can make the condition better. Next what happened was brilliant teamwork and best brains at work. They formed Alfaleus a dynamic group of best people. Living in the age of sleek slim lightweight devices, these students were quite unsatisfied with the bulky testing instruments.
Best brains were at work, to bring up a much smaller version of the same device along with accuracy, convenience and cost efficiency. Also another thing that struck them was its reach. They wanted the design in such a way that, it can be portable enough so as to treat patients who find it difficult to visit the hospital. Hours of brainstorming, days of testing, wait of approvals all led to the birth of C3 Field analyzer in short known as C3FA.
C3FA kept its word by being cost-effective, comfortable, compact, portable and in fact more accurate. C3FA won hearts of many hospitals, doctors and prestigious institutes.
Once C3FA got lots of cheer and support, Alfaleus took every step to bring it to the public. Now testing for Glaucoma is no longer a big deal.
When the college molded the engineer in them, the sights from the hospital ignited the social being they were. Alfaleus is a promising group in providing best healthcare solutions and C3FA proves this.
