How to pass KYC for Some of the Upcoming IDOs on AlgoDAO
Hey AlgoDAO community,
We had earlier mentioned that AlgoDAO users will be required to pass a KYC process for certain projects to be launched on AlgoDAO. We now have such a project, which is CURL. The nature of the CURL token requires that KYC is done by those AlgoDAO users who will participate in its launch.
To this end, we thought it useful to share some more information about the KYC process to ensure that you have a smooth and seamless KYC experience.
KYC process on AlgoDAO
The KYC process is powered by SumSub, a leading KYC provider. Your KYC status will appear on your AlgoDAO dashboard and clicking on the “Pass KYC” menu will take you to the KYC page.
Pre-verification
Before starting the actual KYC process, please note you will be required to provide the following biodata information and identification documents for a smooth KYC experience.
- First name
- Surname
- Street address
- City
- Postal code
- Country
- Date of birth
- Email address
Step 1: Verify your email address
Applicants will be required to verify their email address by clicking on a link sent to the email provided.
Step 2: Upload personal identification documents
Applicants will be asked to upload a personal identification document. Acceptable documents are:
- Passport
- National ID
- Driver’s License
- Residence Permit
Step 3: Upload address verification documents
Applicants will be asked to upload a document showing their address. Please note that the documents provided should not be older than three months. Acceptable documents for address verification are:
- Utility bill or an official bank statement
Other acceptable documents include:
- Internet/Cable TV/Landline bills
- Tax returns or Council tax bills
- Government-issued certificates of residence
Please note that our KYC provider will NOT accept the following:
- Screenshots
- Mobile phone bills
- Medical bills
- Receipts for purchases
- Insurance statements
Step 4: Take a selfie (liveness verification)
Applicants will be required to take a web camera selfie for proof of liveness.
Step 5: Wallet address verification
Applicants will be required to verify the ownership of the wallet address being used to participate in IDOs on AlgoDAO. This verification is necessary for tracing the flow of funds and spotting patterns and outliers.
Passing KYC
After you have submitted your KYC application you will get a response from SumSub when your KYC application is reviewed. If you pass the KYC verification, you will receive an email informing that you have successfully passed the KYC and your KYC status in the AlgoDAO dashboard will be updated to “Passed”.
If there are any issues with your KYC application, you will receive an email detailing what issues surfaced (maybe some of the documents are expired, not legible, or other reasons) and you will get direction on how to proceed to fix the issue. Your KYC status on AlgoDAO will change to “pending” until you resolve the issue and pass KYC.
SCAM ALERT: Please note that AlgoDAO, Team, Admins, Partners, and the KYC Provider will not contact you directly on Telegram or Discord. We will never ask you for sensitive data such as seed phrases and passwords.

KYC processing times
KYC processing time will vary for different applicants, but you can generally expect to complete the KYC application within ten minutes.
After submitting your application, it will take an additional 12 hours or so for the verification process to complete.
You will receive an email confirmation that you have successfully passed KYC and can proceed with participation in future IDOs on AlgoDAO that will require such KYC.
And that is it…
Once you have successfully passed the KYC, you can continue using AlgoDAO, join IDOs, and participate in other activities on the platform.
Another great thing to note about participating in the KYC process on AlgoDAO is that you only need to pass KYC once. After passing through the KYC process once, you will not need to go through the KYC process again for subsequent IDOs on our launchpad.
