First Opulous Music NFT Drop set for October 29 with Lil Pump and Soulja Boy

Opulous have confirmed that their first-ever music NFT Drop is set to take place on October 29 allowing users to invest in Lil Pump’s new single “Mona Lisa” featuring Soulja Boy. The eagerly anticipated platform gives users the opportunity to invest in music and earn royalties by leveraging NFTs. Crimson Digital Capital Announces Algorand Fund

Alabama based investment firm Digital Capital has announced the creation of a dedicated Algorand investment fund aiming to offer clients investment-grade access to Algorand and venture exposure to leading Algorand ecosystem projects. Having already purchased Texas based Algorand start-up Headline Inc. which includes a portfolio of companies such as PIPELINE-UI, AlgoPay, FORUM, and more. This is yet another example of the rapidly expanding list of investment opportunities available to upcoming and coming Algorand projects.

Drone Racing League announce Algorand’s 13th Pilot Manuel Garcia

The Drone Racing League this week announced the signing of Algorand’s 13th Pilot Manuel Garcia. Hailing from Atlanta Georgia the 33-year-old is a firefighter by day and drone pilot by night joining the DRL roster mid-way through the 2021/22 season. The DRL describe his playstyle as a combination of speed and skill which is similar to the characteristics displayed by the Algorand blockchain.

Computing Resource project Cudos partners with ClimateTrade to offset carbon emissions

Algorand based computing resource project Cudos this week partnered with carbon offsetting firm ClimateTrade to ensure their platform will be net carbon negative. The Cudos platform enables users to exchange their computing resources in a decentralized process with a view to greatly increase the efficiency of global computing resource deployment.

“Building a sustainable computing model sits at the very core of our company’s values,” said Cudos CEO & Founder Matt Hawkins.

“It was therefore imperative that the partner we selected utilizes blockchain technology, offering transparency and traceability to where purchased carbon credits are being spent.”

“We strongly believe that ClimateTrade is that partner, and we’re extremely proud to meet our target of ensuring Cudos is carbon neutral, in readiness for the network launch this quarter.”

StakerDAO launches wAlgo

StakerDAO this week announced the creation of a new asset call Wrapped Algo (wAlgo) which is a fully collateralized representation of ALGO. wAlgo can be minted on the StakerDAO platform by locking a staked sum of Algos in a vault and receiving a 1:1 ratio of wAlgos in return. Users will then be able to use wAlgos between Algorand and Ethereum easily unlocking new DeFi possibilities. Read the full details here.

Lando DeFi announces lofty goals

A new project building on Algorand have announced themselves on Twitter with an eye-catching Hello World statement. The Lando DeFi platform in its own words are trying to make the ownership of anything digital and transactable without relying on a centralized authority. A lofty yet exciting goal, this may be a project to keep an eye on.

Alchemon launches AlcheCoin governance token

The Alchemon project has announced that they will be launching a governance token called AlcheCoin which can be obtained by staking on the platform. The project aims to bring Play to Earn functionality through its NFT trading card game. Set 3 of the Alchemon NFT cards are set to launch on November 7th with a presale taking place on October 31st.

ZONE is set to launch on Equinox

The ZONE GameFi platform has launched on community-driven launchpad Equinox. Built on Algorand, ZONE is designed to bring any game into the GamerFi ecosystem as well as revenue generation opportunities for gamers. Equinox is a non-fungible community driven platform launching the highest vetted projects and will assist ZONE during its private funding round.

Opulous partner with Japanese Conglomerate Line

This week Opulous announced a new strategic partnership with Japanese conglomerate Line the company behind the popular Japanese messaging app and music stream platform of the same name. The partnership means that Opulous will be developing NFTs in collaboration with Line to be listed on Line’s own curated NFT marketplace. “Being the first mover in the music NFT space, it is important to us to work with high caliber partners,” said Opulous CEO Lee Parsons.

“I’m proud to say that we have found one in line tech plus.”

Joe Gibbs Racing Driver Ty Gibbs to sport Smile Coin scheme at Martinsville Speedway

Algorand-based project Smile Coin is set to take center stage at this weekend’s NASCAR race on Martinsville Speedway. Joe Gibbs Racing revealed that 19-year-old driver Ty Gibbs will be driving a car sporting a Smile Coin themed colour scheme. Smile Coin is aiming to deliver the most seamless payment processing platform for the GameFi ecosystem.
