After reading up on Algorand in early 2021, I realized it is actually capable of doing everything blockchains have promised: reaching the unbanked; being low cost, scalable, secure, and decentralized; offering financial inclusion for all people; and doing all this in a sustainable way. Since then, I’ve been passionate about helping the Algorand ecosystem, telling everyone I meet about Algorand’s technology and how it can make the world better.

One way I’ve been able to do this is with the creation of AlgoFamily, where I share all sorts of Algorand news, information about projects, partnerships, instructions to help people move to Algorand, and spreading awareness anywhere I can.

Of course, I’m not the only one spreading the word about Algorand. If you want to learn more about the Algorand ecosystem, here are the influencers I recommend following:

  • Monty Allen, AKA KryptoNurd, has been in the Algorand space for as long as I can remember. On his YouTube channel, he brings coverage of events such as the recent darkening of Times Square and interviews all sorts of people throughout the ecosystem. Monty has a background in real estate and has gotten many real estate projects to look into Algorand.
  • Cooper Daniels has a Hollywood personality and makes everyone he interviews feel welcomed. He’s gained lots of publicity lately and has even interviewed Algorand Foundation CEO Staci Warden! Cooper is one of the stars of Algorand.
  • JT is super smart when it comes to tokenomics, and knowledgeable about all sorts of projects building on Algorand as well as other blockchains. He’s interviewed many CEOs, developers, and entrepreneurs building on Algorand, and brought us live coverage from NTY. He recently started reaching out into the newsletter space.
  • CRYPTOforCHANGE has been making weekly “The Next Block” YouTube videos with JT and SeaWill. Subscribe on YouTube for latest updates.
  • SeaWillPDX is active on Youtube and Twitter and regularly part of The Next Block YouTube series, talking all things Algorand on Youtube.
  • AlgoHQ makes short and sweet YouTube videos that are easy to understand. The creator saves you time by getting right to the good parts of the discussion. I love seeing him walking around NY!
  • AlgorandFacts is the small, quiet voice in the room, but his tweets speak volumes. AlgorandFacts consistently finds more alpha than anyone I know. A must follow to be first to know, months in advance.
  • Fred Estante has been active and vocal in the Algorand community, organizing events, Twitter spaces, and reaching out to projects. There are lots of great things coming from Brazil!
  • Chris Swenor is the founder of REACH (making smart contracts easy to write) and is not only involved in the community, but has a brilliant mind. He’s a great person to bounce ideas off of or ask Algorand programming questions.
  • The Algorand Foundation has been the account to follow lately. The new social media manager is interactive and helpful. Wow!
  • Staci Warden is the CEO of Algorand Foundation, so you have to follow her!
  • Patrick B has been around the Algorand ecosystem for many years, and is very smart on PyTeal, smart contracts, and abstract ways of thinking. A true genius in the community.
  • Andrew W has been consistently providing Algorand NFT statistics and other information. A great resource to follow for NFT lovers.
  • Rich LoPresti comes from a family of artists and is a great account to keep up on Algo NFTs. He has his own Youtube channel.
  • Margaret is heavily involved in both Algorand and the music scenes. She plays a vital role in Dequency, a music licensing platform on Algorand, and is a strong leader.
  • Michael Cotton is based in Australia and builds all types of projects on Algorand, including Meld Gold and AlgoMint. If you catch him in a livestream, watch out for all the alpha he drops!
  • Adriana Belotti hosts weekly Twitter spaces with Algorand projects and developers as well as all sorts of blockchain related events. Her podcast was the first Algorand-related one I listened to more than a year ago.
  • Jeff Malko has onboarded more projects to Algorand than I can count. He’s constantly active in the community. From Twitter spaces to events and conferences, Jeff is there!
  • GitGudKhed, a market maker and a degen, is skilled in liquidity pools and DeFi, and is always open to questions and pointing people in the right direction. Super kind, smart, and patient.
  • Foxriverdevops is absolutely solid, with amazing research and posts. Reading his threads always gets me excited.
  • DaisyIfYouD0 is skilled in multiple Algorand projects including PlanetWatch. Daisy’s first passion is DAOs. If you are thinking of starting a DAO, he is an encyclopedia.
  • EldarDRM has been in the financial sector all his life and has insight when it comes to FinTech. He is one of the earliest voices in the Algorand Community and has encouraged many people to research Algorand.
  • Algo1circle is the best resource focusing on the Chinese community and friends. They routinely translate documents, webpages, and articles into Chinese and operate a growing Discord.
  • AlgoPulse constantly publishes Algorand news. They have weekly NFT & Algo news wrap-ups. A lot more will be coming from them soon.
