Thesis: Life Sciences is experiencing rapid innovation with the rise of new generation of companies known as “TechBio” (Merging technology & biology), a change we believe is leading to some of the most impactful solutions in decades. Our passion is to help build transformative companies ahead of this revolution to significantly impact the quality & effectiveness of patient care. We aim to partner with passionate, accomplished founders who possess unique insights to solve some of the world’s most daring problems facing us in Life Sciences.
We are recruiting passionate student scientists interested in entrepreneurial opportunities within Life Sciences to serve as University Ambassadors.
The position would be particularly advantageous to those who aspire to be Life Science Venture Capitalists and/or TechBio Startup Founders.

As a University Ambassador you’ll have will have unparalleled access to behind the scenes of a top early stage Life Science venture capital firm.
Some example projects…
- You’ll work hand in hand with our partners evaluating potential investment opportunities, performing diligence, & attending pitch meetings. Perhaps even spotting the next unicorns in the portfolio :)
- You’ll be instrumental in creating firm investment theses & forming in-depth market research on cutting edge topics like Organoids.
- You’ll assist the BIOS Team on content creation & production — Feature your voice as a guest host on BIOS Podcast alongside some of the top voices in Life Sciences: CEOs, distinguished professors, top founders, & Midas List VCs :)

Alix Ventures Campus Ambassador
- Location: Remote
- Type: Part-Time
- Compensation: Unpaid
- Time Commitment: ~ 5 Hours / Week
- Duration: 2019–2020 Academic Year (starting fall semester & continuing through school year)

Collaborate w/ Alix Ventures on areas of opportunity on campus such as…
- Source promising Life Science startup investment opportunities
- Build Tech transfer office relationships
- Network with Top university labs & professors
- Facilitate partnerships with university organizations
Program Benefits:
- Strengthen your knowledge of the startup ecosystem & build investment theses through market deep dives in verticals Life Science of interest.
- Meet regularly with the Alix team to share updates on promising startings, campus events, network building & Present market research
- Network with fellow campus ambassadors across other top research universities
- Join Alix fireside chats, networking sessions, portfolio company meetings, & ask me anythings
Preferred Attributes:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student with both broad/deep connections to Life Sciences entrepreneurship communities & centers of excellence on campus
- Formal coursework in the life sciences, medicine, entrepreneurship, and related fields are preferred, but not required as much as a willingness to hustle 🔥
- Experience leading a campus entrepreneurship organization, VC investing or startup operating is a BIG+
