counting its own
golden claps when
it ran into 40 Cent

40 Cent was feeling
boosted by its recent
round of applause and
so naturally thought
its own tale was far
superior to 30 Cent’s
trite little tale

30 Cent stopped counting
and scowled at the
uppity little 40 Cent
inflated with her
own success —

you really think you’re
the bee’s knees, don’t you?
I’ve seen better stories
written by 10 Cent
if you want to know
the truth

40 Cent just laughed,
cooly retorting —

you’re just jealous,
30 Cent — you’re going
to need to do better
than that if you want
to get noticed
