9 Things I Refuse to Read on Medium

I’ve been on Medium since February 2019 and I read and respond to at least 30 posts a day. But I’ve learned to avoid 9 kinds of Medium posts:

Anything called a Drabble.

Unless it’s written by Margaret Drabble. And she’s dead so that’s not going to happen. I even dislike the word “Drabble.” It sounds like something that has spilled and needs to be wiped up, not something to read.

Advice about how to succeed on Medium from writers who haven’t been on the platform long enough to have any idea what they’re talking about.

If you’ve only been here for a few weeks? Don’t share your “wisdom” about how to thrive on Medium. You’re just displaying your ignorance.

Advice about how to make money on Medium that fails to disclose exactly how much the writer of the post actually makes.
