AI Writers Getting More Attention Than Humans!

Wrote this a while ago. It’s publish or be damned, so here we go…

I came across an AI writer, who had about 15 or 16 comments on all their stories, and I noted that some real writers I read get very few. šŸ™„ I think all the AI-generated spammy comments on people’s stories get people reading their work, even though it is AI-generated ā€˜work’.

Sometimes, the AI writers all support each other and you can see the AI comments under the AI stories, but other times, you can see it’s real readers and writers being fooled by the fake engagement. I admit I’ve been fooled myself on occasion.

There was a piece on lucid dreaming, which felt like an AI piece, but I checked it on an AI checker, which delivered a 20% return and said it was most likely written by a human. I thought it was me being too suspicious, but after thinking about it, I don’t think I was. Some of the same text was copied and pasted twice throughout the article, and I think upon reflection, it was AI-generated.

We need to all be on our guard to try not to support paywalled AI writing which breaks Medium’s rules.
