I Don’t Care How Many Medium Stories You Write a Day

I’m Only Going to Read One of Them

I subscribe to a lot of Medium writers and follow even more, and I’ve noticed that certain writers who used to publish a story a day — or a story every couple of days — are now publishing two or three stories a day.

I suspect that they’re using AI to help them churn out this additional work.

And they’re doing a good job. Their three stories a day are just as engaging as their single story a day used to be.

But now? They’re enlisting the help of AI to get more reads and earn more $$.

And who can blame them?

Medium’s AI policy is incomprehensible.

You can’t publish an AI-written story on Medium. Except that you can as long as you don’t put it behind the paywall!

Medium discourages AI-written work. But? They promote it! They put AI-assisted stories in my feed all the time.
