I Would Be Broke If I Did Not Start Medium
Sometimes Medium payday may only be $40, but it’s better than $0 by a longshot.
My first story was published on Medium in October 2020. I should have started sooner, but Vocal Media was first and I let imposter syndrome stop me from joining sooner.
Right from day one, my father told me not to expect anything from blogging. He told me it would be just a hobby and nothing more, something for me to do during lockdown. And I agreed with him, I had no professional writing skills apart from the ones I adapted during university, but compared to expert freelance writers and storytellers, I was just a blogging baby.
I love proving people wrong, even myself.
After winning three competitions on Vocal Media*, I mustered up the courage to join Medium. Once again, I was expecting nothing at first. I had no idea how the platform worked, I had no followers, completely new to the game.
