We all know that at some point our actions catch up with us. Delaying a dentist appointment, not taking the car in for a check-up, leaving the cat litter too long—they all catch up. Now multiply those little deferrals by billions. “Gimme a sec,” spread out over the earth’s entire population, becomes over two-and-a-quarter centuries. I guess what I’m saying is enjoy the party. There’s a big clean-up coming, and the punishment is still up in the air.
