ADB-151223 Never underestimate the power of nostalgia

Today the family went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. My son, who delights in shared experiences, thoroughly enjoyed it and bought the limited edition $10 Storm Trooper 3D glasses. He’s in Grade 5. I was in Grade 4 when I saw my first Star Wars film in theatres (Return of the Jedi). My daughter has also embraced the franchise. She likes to wear ‘vintage’ Star Wars T-shirts. She’s 13. Both want to see the movie again. Disney purchased Lucasfilm and its properties (including Indiana Jones) for $4 Billion dollars. They made over 1/8th of that back on the opening weekend with over five-hundred million globally. And knowing Disney, the Star Wars cinematic universe is only just getting started. Episodes 8 & 9 await, as well as Red Leader [correction: Rogue One], Han Solo, and Boba Fett back stories. #TheFranchiseAwakens
