Are we the spider or are we the fly?

The Web
are we the spider
or are we the fly
Today is different somehow. I might have finally gotten out of that sticky part of the web. I feel more confident, more a part of the world again as opposed to separate. I feel more in control, however illusory.
Comfortable is a dirty word. It is the difference between being aware and being asleep. There is a reason we meditate sitting up. There is a reason life is fraught with challenges. It gets us doing something, it begets change. All this time I thought I was looking for comfort when I was really looking for satisfaction—compensation for some deluded belief that what I was doing deserved reward. Ask any kid when the reward is enough. Give someone a wish and they will ask for a billion wishes.
This world is a challenge, a mysterious creation. I want to meet that challenge with mysterious creations of my own.

One last thing: I’ve compiled the first one-hundred ADBs into a free PDF. To download, all you need to do is sign-up for my newsletter called ADB’s Weekly Brunch.
