An anthem finally gets repressed

Bootlegging’s always been an integral part of music culture — but it’s rare that a particular tune captures the attention of musicians or helps to define a particular time in a genre.
Mavado’s Dem A Talk was released back in 2011 — a wicked little reggae tune that went on to inspire arguably three of the biggest dubstep bootlegs of the last few years.
FKOF fam TMSV, Nanobyte and Compa all flexed their creative muscles refixing the vocal — with each of the bootlegs earning their place in the 140bpm history books. We gave away the Nanobyte version in 2012, while TMSV’s came out on a single sided white label around the same sort of time.
Compa self released his version as the first record on his WXWL label in 2012, as the producer was starting to build a following for his stripped back dubstep material. We’d featured him on FKOF a few months earlier and had managed to catch a few of the vinyl sets that went on to help define the DJ.
The Compa Dem A Talk refix did well (rather well, in fact) and today, five years after its release, Will’s announcing the long-rumoured repress. If you’ve been hunting for a copy, but are loathe to pay the reseller prices, today’s your lucky day…
