Before You Blame Your Job, Do This First

Wash your dirty windows

There are a lot of videos describing how to hit a tennis forehand. But, like much career advice, they miss the most important element.

You won't be able to hit a forehand without swinging the racquet face square to and up and through the ball.

And without the proper mindset, you won't be able to thrive at your job.

The clothes won't look clean if the windows are dirty

A woman was horrified by what her neighbor was doing. The neighbor had hung clothes outside that were dirty.

Who does that?!

This happened week after week until one day, the woman saw that (finally) the hung clothes were clean.

She sighed in relief and told her husband the blessed news.

That's when he broke his news. He said he had just washed their windows.

The neighbor's clothes had always been clean. The woman's windows, however, were not.

In your job, your windows are how you view the world; it's your mindset.
