I’ve worn out the soles of my shoes from too many moves, longing for the stillness of a place to call home finally. Yet, I know there’s one last journey left in me if it’s the one that leads me there.

I attended more than 10 schools in my childhood, one community college, and two universities before graduating. I lived in more than 8 homes before I settled in my current home. I worked more than 5 jobs before settling on my existing job. Despite all these changes, for some reason, I still feel like I have one more major move in me before I find my true home.

My favorite place to live was Toledo, Ohio. I loved it because of the nostalgia I feel when I think about it; it was the first time I left my family and traveled 6,000 miles from Lebanon to settle in a small apartment with five people. We lived in a small apartment complex, where we made friends with at least 20 people who lived there. This made it one of my favorite periods of my life.

When I moved to Texas, I lived in too many apartments and went through too many jobs and relationships until I got married, had two kids, and settled into what seemed like a normal life.
