TRENDING IN WOMENSWEAR
Coming to a street near you in 2018–19…
SUGARED
Unicorns are overrated.
Spring has finally arrived in the U.K., and what’s better than mixing and matching sugared pastels for maximum impact? Hit the streets with this chic and shimmery look. To get that LFW wardrobe, you better wear pastel coloured stripes and prints on wide-legged trousers and culottes. We have predicted a big wave of pastel coloured suits this summer. Complete the outfit with a statement t-shirt underneath to get All Eyes seal of approval.
HOT FLUSH
Think Pink
What’s more evergreen than pink? Whether it’s pastel, millennial or hot, it is definitely the colour of 2018. The red and pink game still going strong, we predict a variation of hues for these two colours as the year progresses.
WILD WEST
Once upon a time in the West, Americana!
The mid-western/Americana inspired look hit LFW last February: Cowboy shirts with piped collars, blanket coats, embroidery, fringing, cowboy boots and hats are reoccurring staples that we have seen in countless seasons prior and prolifically in Spring/Summer 18. The colour palette is earth toned inspired, notes of brown, rust and camel with key highlights of mahogany red. Micro trends to consider are the timeless cowboy boots with added details and a total denim outfit.
BUSTED
Under-busted
Pack away your bras, it’s bralette season! Mesh and lace dominated the inside-outside trend. Layering bralettes and intimates on top of apparel to create unique and unforgettable silhouettes. XVI corsets have been revamped and reconstructed with metallic materials, worn over tops and maxi dresses. A trend that festival goers will be keen on, making it stand out.
UTILITY
The New Army
When it rains it pours. Featured heavily in street style it is noticeable how the trench coat has seen new interpretations throughout the years. No longer it is only needed for the spring showers, but it has become the epitome of a styled and put-together look. Fresh and contemporary, the trench coat is available in more than the classic beige colour, but it extended its range to include basic closet tones such as black and khaki. For the most brave hearts, dare with high shine PVC and rubberised surfaces. The boiler suit is also a key piece embraced with eccentric details, D-rings, gold and silver hardware, deep pockets and waist ties.
