…and the nominees are

This week saw the 1st annual Timmy Awards, hosted by Tech in Motion come to Toronto Canada. The awards recognises individuals that work hard to promote the happiness and growth of their employees, and companies that create a positive culture and environment for technology professionals to work.

There are 3 award categories:

• Best Technology Manager
• Best Tech Startup
• Best Technology Work Culture

Our very own VP and Toronto Lead Sam Ward who is tipped by Tech in Motion as one of the “finalists everyone in Toronto should know” made it as a finalist out of 300 nominees for Toronto’s Best Technology Manager.

The event was held at the city’s trendy Revival Bar and the atmosphere was buzzing, with a real sense of how exciting it is to be in the tech scene in Toronto right now.

The energy from lots of people who love their field and love their work gave for lots of cheering for the nominees, the runners up and the winners for all three categories. Unfortunately Sam wasn’t crowned winner, but there’s always next year.

Move over Silicon Valley and believe the hype because this event showed that Toronto is fast becoming the next great producer of tech start ups in the digital tech universe.
