Carve out your look with Fashmates, and secure your chats with Mattermost.
This blog post is by Anisha Grover, a middle-school student ambassador at a free public event by AlligatorZone, where kids meet cool startups to learn about the future they are creating.
“It’s not just the hard work, it’s the selling of your ideas,” is a quote by the CEO of Fashmates Mr. Harish Ramchandani, who presented his company, and told the story of his journey of becoming an entrepreneur to the young audience and their family members gathered at Riconada library in Palo Alto. His was one of the two startups featured at the AlligatorZone event.
As technology is advancing, more and more security loopholes are arising, and a lot of people are at risk of getting hacked. But there may be one way of stopping those hackers and other third-party companies interfering with our messages. Introducing Mattermost. Mr. Ian Tien, is the CEO and Founder of Mattermost, which ensures protection for 3rd party servers while texting. Our moderator from AlligatorZone welcomed Mr. Tien.
Mattermost is a company that has developed its own software in order for companies to communicate safely. Whatever message is being sent is always secure so that no one from outside will be able to access the personal messages. His business first started when he was developing video games. They were using a third-party company’s server in order to chat, and when their contract was over with the company, they couldn’t go back and see their old messages. This made them very disappointed. This was the spark that made Mr. Ian Tien think of building a server in which these third-party companies would not be able to meddle with the server, and thus they were able to keep all the data and ideas that they had used. To access all the features Mattermost comes with, use the link Mattermost, or follow the download instructions on the website provided. Since fast-changing technology is something common in the 21st century, people are in need of security applications like Mattermost to secure their personal information.
After we finished listening to security problems in big companies and Mattermost’s solutions for them, our next presenter led us into the world of fashion.
Have you ever wondered about creating a new outfit, or designing a costume? Probably not. The second entrepreneur of the evening, who had a passion for fashion, combined it with his love for technology, to design Fashmates, an app, and a website that allows users to create their own unique look. That was Mr. Harish Ramchandani, CEO and Founder of the startup company Fashmates.
Fashmates is an app where we can be ourselves. The app is similar to Instagram and Snapchat in a way. With Fashmates, we are able to create any look we want, and become a fashion icon. Moreover, we can create our own style. In addition, this app lets us be creative and helps us publish our fashion to the entire community. To be able to check this feature out, we can download it on the app store, or search it up online using the link Fashmates. Mr. Harish started out having an MBA from the University of Michigan to creating his own startup company which has more than 200,000 users worldwide. His main advice to young people was, “Have the passion to change the world.” Since he moved to the US, he always had the dream to change the world, and guess what — now he did.
The event came to an end as the moderator wrapped up the session. After the last presenter, it was time for an Ambassador to interview the presenters so that those who couldn’t attend may learn a little from the video.
Since fast-changing technology is something in the 21st century, people are in need of security applications like Mattermost to secure their personal information.
We are very thankful to Mr. Ian Tien, Mr. Harish Ramchandani and other entrepreneurs for thinking from the user’s point of view, and creating apps that are very beneficial to us. We want to say thanks on behalf of all the ambassadors of AlligatorZone, who took the initiative and showed their leadership skills, and introduced the presenters. AlligatorZone is a community that inspires children to think out of the box and express their ideas in their own style.
