This 2018 Francophonie summit will be held on October 7- 12 in the capital city of Armenia, Yerevan. “The Village of Francophonie” will be organized within the framework of the summit, which will serve as a venue for cultural events organized by the host country. This tradition started in Quebec in 2008. In the Village of Francophonie the participating countries present to the general public all traditional forms of art. The Francophonie organisation actively supports cultural diversity and encourages the development of national art. Under the summit slogan “Living Together” The Village of Francophonie in Yerevan will unite the richness of traditions of the participating countries”.
The Village welcomes everyone. There people can see folk crafts and national clothing, learn more about tourist and cultural attractions, taste national dishes. The Village program includes exhibitions of contemporary artists, dance and music concerts and performances. The exhibition of ethnic Armenian painter Asilva is going to be presented by the host country. Moreover, performances, opera and a Gala-concert will be held.
All.me will have an interactive Digital Space in the Village. The space will consist of three zones: cryptocurrency and blockchain, VR/AR and robotics, digital media. Visitors will be able to learn about new technologies, see the latest models of robots, test VR technologies and visit the Cryptocurrency Museum. Each zone of Digital Space will hold events, and once you are registered in All.me mobile application you will have a chance to attend the Digital Space in the Village of Francophonie.
The Village of Francophonie will take place on October 7–12; at 12:00–20:00. The official ceremony will start at 16:00, on October 9; the Youth Day will be celebrated that very day.
The Village is located in the center of Yerevan near the Yerevan Opera House and North Avenue.
