We are proud to announce that Allora’s edgenet is live, and the code is now officially open source. This article will explain what the edgenet is capable of, who it’s for, and how you can get involved.

What Is Allora’s Edgenet?

Prior to releasing our public testnet, we’ve launched an edgenet designed specifically to support our partner projects. This early version of the network features a unique set of permissions that differ slightly from those planned for the upcoming public testnet; it operates on a mostly permissionless basis, incorporating a whitelisting process to prevent network congestion.

This new edgenet allows Allora partners to accomplish two tasks:

  1. Get weighted inferences from the Allora Network
  2. Participate as a worker and/or validator in the network

How Can You Use the Edgenet?

  1. Potential partners can participate as validators, playing a crucial role in establishing and maintaining the core infrastructure of Allora.
  2. Data scientists can participate as workers, enabling you to contribute predictive ML models that power a wide range of applications.
  3. Developers can create topics for worker nodes to submit their inferences to. We’ve created a number of initial topics that can be used by applications and developers immediately as well.

What Does the Edgenet Launch Mean for You?

Allora is in its nascent stages. Your contributions — no matter the form — significantly impact the trajectory of the network. These contributions ensure the network’s development aligns with everyone’s goals, top to bottom.

To build on the Allora Network Edgenet, fill out the form here and our team will be in touch.
