Updated with new voter registration deadlines for Florida and Arizona

This weekend, as several states reached voter registration deadlines, and as we marked one month from election day on Sunday, Alloy Verify crossed 15 million voter registration status checks! That’s the direct result of our partners across the progressive ecosystem who have carried out incredible work to ensure more Americans have their voices heard, and that we close the data gap that left too many potential voters on the sidelines in 2016. Alloy Verify is an API that helps voter registration groups and progressive campaigns check voter registration status for individuals or lists, and enables our partner organizations to build apps or websites that let voters check their own status.

A key differentiator for us at Alloy is that we update our files from the Secretaries of State more often than anyone else in this space. That’s particularly important in this final stretch, as our partners work to register voters before the deadlines in their states, and as they work to convert those new registrants to GOTV lists. We’re proud to support their work.

Already we’ve made Verify as dynamic an API as possible, and we’ve built out a variety of endpoints to support organizations at different levels of technical capacity.

  • We have made a Google Docs integration available, that enables smaller organizations to hit the API with little technical complexity.
  • We added a Bulk Upload feature for organizations with large lists.
  • We added a fuzzy search beta endpoint for relational organizing tools that can consider and interpret multiple results from limited inputs.

You can see more about our Verify API at alloy.us/verify.

If you are in a state where voter registration remains open, you can still register and encourage those you know to register too! Below we’ve included a calendar extracted from a great chart provided by the National Conference of State Legislatures on voter registration deadlines. Note that some states will still allow same-day registration at early vote sites or on election day, so consult with local election authorities. But why wait? Let’s get the word out, and let’s get as many Americans registered to vote as possible!
