We live in a world where data is a cornerstone of success.

Conservative advocacy groups and Republican campaigns understand this well — they’ve invested in and built superior data capabilities that help enable them to routinely outperform progressive campaigns and causes.

Today, many progressive groups don’t have access to high-quality data and are often priced out of the tools they need to succeed. This makes it difficult to meaningfully engage their supporters and strengthen relationships with their constituents, both on and offline.

Building a more effective and representative progressive movement requires a fundamental change in how we think about and use data.

To be effective in 2020 and beyond, we must find innovative ways to break down the barriers between organizations on the frontlines of change and the information they need to win. The better we are at reaching and understanding people, the better we will be able to engage and empower them, and the stronger we will be at fighting for what’s most important to individuals across the country.

That is why we created Alloy — a non-profit technology company working to build data infrastructure for the future of the progressive movement.

Our goal is to help secure and strengthen our democracy by equipping causes and campaigns with the strongest data and technology available. We are building a platform that is inclusive, affordable, and available not just to campaigns, but also to important social movements taking root across the country.

Our work is focused on supporting organizations doing important work on the ground through:

  • Designing modern data management tools. Secure data storage and access can be expensive and require significant technical expertise. We are building simple, affordable tools to ease this burden and drastically drive down the cost of data management and storage.
  • Filling key gaps in progressive data. Existing gaps in today’s data make it challenging for progressives to form a complete understanding of their supporters. We are bringing our resources to bear to fill those gaps and make that data broadly accessible to the progressive community.
  • Building dynamic data sharing infrastructure. We believe we are stronger when we act together — which is why we are building a platform to upgrade how organizations share information. The Alloy platform will keep pace with dynamic partnerships, offering users complete control of their data and who has access to it at all times.

Our team brings together decades of diverse political, government, and technology backgrounds and expertise. We also know that we are part of a larger community that has been working on these issues tirelessly and passionately. We believe it will take all of us, working together, to make this change a reality.

We’re building a technology platform for collaborative impact — and we want to build it with you.

We invite you to work with us and give us input to ensure that we are all successful. At a time when the future of our democracy is at stake, we understand the potential data has to unlock a new wave of civic participation and engagement. We are eager to bring resources, support, and long-term vision to help our progressive community, together.

Stay tuned to learn more about our platform, and in the meantime, you can reach us at hello@alloy.us
