Expanding the electorate and winning elections in this day and age require better data.

Today, the team at Alloy is thrilled to launch Verify, the easiest way to check the registration status of every voter. Alloy Verify gives you access to the critical voter registration status details needed to enhance your voter datasets and power your voter registration tools.

Verify is the first of several core products we’re releasing for 2020 — all of which leverage our deep investment in pioneering an API-first approach for the voter registration space. With Verify as the first example, this technology enables us to quickly and easily put the best data into the hands of those working to expand the electorate.

With only a few lines of code, it’s easy to integrate Verify into your voter database, field tool, or mobile app. Request access now at: alloy.us/verify.

How we got here

Both online and in the field, organizations who do voter registration have a shared problem — easy, affordable access to the latest voter data.

If you work in this space, you already know the drill. First, identify your target populations and do the work to reach them via web-based digital tools, site-based outreach, peer-to-peer mobile apps, and canvasses in the field. Then, organize the information provided by these new voters and deliver it to their state or county government. And finally, wait and hope all those new voters get on (and stay on) the voter rolls.

But hoping isn’t the same as knowing. And with everything at stake in 2020, knowing matters.

What if it were possible to know, with clarity, who successfully got registered and who did not? What if an accurate and actionable voter registration status weren’t a mystery until it’s too late?

Enter, Alloy Verify.

What if an accurate and actionable voter registration status weren’t a mystery until it’s too late?

How it works

With only a few inputs, Verify instantly matches your data with public voter records in order to surface the latest voter registration status available. And the registration status you get back isn’t just a binary ‘yes’ or ‘no’. It’s the specifics of what’s available from each state, which helps you determine what action to take and who to take it with.

Detailed status: The more you know about your voters, the more you can do to help them.

Alloy Verify serves up the latest voter registration status for the voters in your dataset. This means you’ll know if they are good to vote on Election Day, or if they need to take additional steps first.

Simply put, this is the easiest way to ensure that your voter registration tools and programs make the difference you hope they will.

The difference of our API-first approach

After months of user research with campaigns, voter registration organizations, and progressive tech vendors, we heard a few things loud and clear.

Many of you told us a similar story — you spend lots of money on large voter data exports, and then face the time-consuming work of synthesizing the key voter information yourself. This takes money and time you don’t have, especially in resource constrained electoral cycles where the way you spend every day and every dollar counts.

API-first: Verify can be deployed across a wide variety of voter registration use cases.

Verify approaches the process of accessing data differently. We update our data as frequently as possible — in most cases on a weekly or monthly basis. Then, by harnessing the power of our API, we are able to equip voter registration operations with the most up-to-date status available.

Democratizing access

It’s always been our goal to empower all groups working to expand our electorate, big and small. Verify is easy to use and available at radically affordable prices, bringing down the barriers to timely and accurate data for all groups and campaigns working for change.

We’re excited to make Alloy Verify available on equal terms to both long-established organizations and the many new entrants at the grassroots who are jumping in to help register voters in 2020 — from student groups, to neighborhood associations, to churches.

This is only the beginning. The Alloy team is already hard at work on additional features and functionality. Over the coming weeks we’ll be introducing a portfolio of new products that further leverage the APIs we’re building in order to put better data into the hands of those working to reach voters.
