How the allrites.com Marketplace Revolutionises Content Distribution

In my first article I shared the journey of how I pivoted from a tech geek to a TV producer and what inspired me to create allrites — a B2B marketplace for trading Film, TV and Sports content rights.

My second article outlined the challenge of content monetization.

This third article subsequently shows the solution. Let me share how we, at allrites, believe that by leveraging available and industry-secure tech and combining scalable B2B and B2B2C business strategy, plus with a committed team and precise execution — the allrites content distribution ecosystem can and will unlock the VALUE of content.

In an age when consumers buy everything from groceries to a new dress online, the Film & TV Broadcast Content industry continues to remain in the dark ages. It is only a matter of time before the process for buying and selling content is streamlined and conducted online as well.

The time for change is now if the industry is to survive and thrive!!

The allrites.com marketplace presents exactly such a solution — allowing content creators/rights holders to list their content rights for free on the platform. Each listing includes a detailed description of the content (synopsis, actors, producers, audience info) as well as a trailer, episodes and artwork — sufficient information for any broadcaster to make an informed decision.

Content Buyers can browse the content and use a variety of filters (e.g. genre, language, actors, producer) to narrow down their search. They can securely watch trailers or full movies/episodes (all low res) and then make an offer directly to the rights holder on the platform.

The buyer and seller negotiate deal terms and execute an agreement electronically. The payment is made online and discovery to deal can be executed within a day (compared to several months with the traditional process).

The allrites.com marketplace offers efficiencies which are not possible in the traditional model hence content distribution costs can be dramatically reduced (by up to 75%) as the platform only charges a 10% distribution fee which can be further reduced via tier bonuses. Further, the platform does not require exclusivity as we believe that rights holders should be free to sell their content rights anywhere that they like without restrictions.

Having personally experienced the “painful” process of selling content the traditional way, my mission is to make allrites a platform that benefits buyers, sellers and distributors alike. We have a “secret sauce” to make the platform so sticky and indispensable that our customers would not contemplate going off to another service or platform. As with any good Hollywood film, you need to stick around for the ending hence we hope our readers will be able to experience our “secret sauce” first hand over the coming months …. I started envisioning the allrites platform in 2015 and it has been an incredible journey deserving of its own Hollywood movie (which I am certain I will make one day!!) — and the journey has only just begun (so we will wait for the Hollywood ending before releasing the film)!!

Today we have over 20,000 hours of content in various languages and genres with global distribution giants such as IMG, Sony, JiangSu TV, MNC Indonesia, MediaCorp and many others (a few big names to be announced shortly) signed on to our platform.

Although allrites today is a smart and efficient platform for distributing content, my vision is far greater. The next steps in our journey includes a B2B2C RiteStream (ing) service that allows unsold rights on the allrites marketplace to be monetized such that Content Rights Owners can tap into the full potential of their content today and in perpetuity.
