  • Population around the world is aging, driving the long term needs for rehabilitation
  • LongGood is a tech startup developing telerehabilitation technology and service with 3D sensors and computer vision with specialty to support patients to regain ability in IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living)

Population in most of the countries in the world are getting older. According to a report from WHO, by 2050 the world’s population aged 60 years and older is expected to hit 2 billion, doubling from that in 2015. Naturally, the demand for rehabilitation service would be on the rise and there would pose a challenge to the healthcare providers, especially the current rehabilitation implementation would require in-person coach or instrument by physiotherapists.

Observing the trend, LongGood, a startup founded by a group of industry experts in bioengineering, medical device and medical, aims to address that opportunity by providing supportive rehabilitation software solution with integration of 3D sensing technology, AI and rich content in real life scenario for IADL rehabilitation.

With the LongGood’s 3D depth image sensors, the physiotherapist could now get support from the algorithm to track precise progress of rehabilitation therapy. For example, a physiotherapist could track remotely on the progress of a patient suffering from frozen shoulder; eg. the angle of shoulder lift that traditionally would need in-person observation and manual record without the deep vision technology. That’d free up not only free up the time of physiotherapists so that they could focus on planning future therapy, but also allow patients to practice at home. What’s more, LongGood’s technology could provide gait analysis without setting up expensive equipment, saving huge time and money for the service providers like rehabilitation centers or hospitals.

LongGood’s integrated hardware and software solution

Integrating rich content into the rehabilitation of IADL is the new feature LongGood brings to the market recently. Traditionally in the rehabilitation centers or hospitals, the environment is not set up for real-life scenarios. While there is growing needs for patients to pick up the skills in daily living, for example, shopping in the grocery store, rehabilitation practice done in a scenario as close to real life as possible would be a great and effective solution. The content could also be built and customized in scenarios close to the patients’ past life experience so as to make the therapy more effective.

Since the launch, LongGood’s rehabilitation supportive software has been adopted by over 50% of the hospitals in Taiwan; and with support from its partnership of DBS, it has gradually expanded in Southeast Asian market, currently in collaboration with a few home care platform providers in the region. It also actively seek for channel and healthcare partners and strategic investors for its B2B2C market expansion in east/south-east Asia and the Asia community in the U.S..

LongGood will be with Taiwan Tech Arena Pavilion in Innovfest Unbound in Singapore on 6/27–28, 2019 at booth number P11 and would be happy to make a full introduction for its new IADL rehabilitation content and gait analysis in person if you’d be joining Innovfest Unbound.
