The pink chunks of paper are the Flash Cards

The Navratari feel is on and most of the hearts beating in India are filled with a sense of excitement knitting their own plans for the festive season. Some have started with a routine to watch the Ramleela whereas shopaholics are busy taking full advantage of the massive sale in the markets.

The Dusshera will be celebrated on 11th October when most of the spectators will cheer the triumph of the Lords over Evil, the same way they’ve been doing for all these years.

Like seriously that big cloud of smoke make you cheer for a historic victory?

Like seriously you celebrate the victory of the Lord by harming the nature he created?

I know no one will follow the advice if I tell you to boycott the festival. Well, I am not doing that!

But try and stick ‘All Out/Mortein Flash cards’ on the local Ravanas in your area!

Yes, companies like Mortein, All Out etc. recently introduced the concept of‘Flash Cards’ which simply works on the principle of radiation. Burning these flash cards emit a chemical fume called ‘allethrin’ which is toxic to mosquitoes and insects while it is harmless to the humans.

One flash card kills the mosquitoes in the vicinity within a time period of 5 minutes.

Killing one mosquito is saving one life!

Likewise, burning thousands of cards at the same time can save thousands of lives.

The very same idea was picked up by one of the Ravana makers in the Titarpur area of West Delhi who implemented the same by sticking hundreds of flash cards on the Ravana he made. Such a social help it will be!

This creative and environmental-friendly idea is a masterpiece for a festival like Dusshera when the air is contaminated voluntarily.

If it has to be done, at least we can mitigate the effects of other problems of the environment. Instead of kicking out the pollution, we can trample hard the deadly dengue and chikangunia.

The Ravana maker will install this Eco-friendly Ravana in the Sultanpur area of the Capital. Beware mosquitoes!

Keep it as a vision or Take it as a mission. But this Dusshera, eradicate the actual evils of the society and praise the Lords.

Happy Dusshera!
