Are You Selling a Method or A Myth?
At some point in your business, you’ve probably heard a pitch that sounded too good to be true.
Something that didn’t seem possible or something you just didn’t trust.
Chances are you didn’t say yes to that pitch.
Don’t stop reading…
You’re about to have a reality check.
Now I want you to ask yourself… “Do people say that to themselves about my program, product or service?”
If you are selling based on emotion and not results then #HardTruth you are selling a myth not a method.
Your clients want results not warm feelings.
Have you ever seen a weight loss ad that said, “I didn’t lose any weight but everyone was super nice!”
Definitely not.
Your customers don’t want your warm wishes, happy feelings or the tools you hope might work.
They want a clear method that provides clear results.
Which sounds better to you?
“After this program, 90% of clients said their life was easier.”
“After following this method. 75% of clients reported increased revenue of 25% or more in the first six months.”
See the difference?
People want facts.
If you don’t have proven statistics or evidence that your service gets results, why would anyone want to sign up for it?
The prominent problem entrepreneurs are making with their message is leading with feelings and not results.
Instead of telling their potential clients about the results, they talk to them about the feelings.
If you’re a Facebook ads consultant and you have a track record of getting your clients 500 new leads every month, then show those numbers.
Yes, you can highlight how your clients found time and freedom by not having to personally recruit new leads or how happy they are with your service, but make sure you focus on the method and result.
Focus on the method. How you get your clients from step A to Z and what step Z looks like, not just what it feels like.
When you talk about feelings too much, you are selling a myth.
When you talk about results and methodology, you are selling a method.
