We are entrepreneurs from the Harry Potter generation. A generation that grew up with the love of literature, cinema and technology. A generation that believes that no matter how insignificant we might think we are, we all have the potential to change the world for the better. Together.

From William Shakespeare to Bob Dylan to Stanley Kubrick to JK Rowling, great artists have always made the seemingly impossible task of changing a person’s perspective of the world possible at the largest of scales. Because that’s what art does when it’s done right. Words on paper and images on celluloid transcend into the living, breathing personalities that we begin to respect, care for, hate, get jealous of and sometimes even fall in love.

The Startup Revolution

The dot-com boom happened, and there was a surge in people starting their own companies, building products. Doing a job became no more an obsession for people, building products that change the way people live did.

The speed of transformation was on acceleration in the last two decades; it took centuries for the world to move from colonialism to capitalism. Not anymore the millennial’s and young talents made it to the boom.

While silicon valley was busy pioneering the dot-com boom, the other nations were busy with their quest for capitalism, and we still pacing up with Industrial revolution.

And there happened a smartphone boom with iPhone disrupting the smartphone industry. This specifically caught-up in India thanks to the 1.3 billion population, we broke all records in the industry.

But still we were just catching up with technology and startup revolution, we had just started to understand the game when the game was almost over.

Our team belonged to the same crowd of technology enthusiasts, hippies and radicals who were hitting the rock and trying to pull out sheer luck out of thin air, for instance, we were trying to rejuvenate our body by doing pranayama in Delhi smog-like atmosphere.

No, we don’t believe it was our fault it was the best we could at the given possible conditions.

We were struggling to master the game when the game was already over; we started to explore when the market while market was correcting itself. Bullish funding had stopped, startups were failing to prove their business models, and companies were disappearing

It all starts with a Dream

When we started, we were just free radicals exploring how to make the world a better place. We believed in challenging the status quo and do something that could bring some change, but with no compass, no directions, no map. We just sailed into the sea with brave hearts and mighty will.

We were part of different points of the curve and we were somehow trying to figure out different ways to build the next big thing. So we moved on from products to products each time evolving with some new learnings.

Fascination with Bitcoin and Blockchain

The day we understood the underlying technology and the game behind working of Bitcoin, it blew our mind to the core. The moment we saw the technology it was like that moment when Steve Jobs saw the GUI and Mouse in Xerox, Palo Alto. It was just catastrophic.

We went to dive in deep into the industry, figuring out use cases and technologies. We spent one year just exploring and doing the background work to bring our next big thing towards the goal to make the shift.

and this was it, Blockchain is the next technological disruption and we decided to lead the game.

So we started Almora…

Our driving mission at Almora is to catalyse blockchain and cryptocurrencies and lead the moment to a decentralised world.

Almora is not just about breathing insane technology, it’s an art-form of sustainable and decentralised living. Almora is all about people, artists, technologists, hippies, marketers, researchers, radicals. We are the sect of people who want to bring power back to the masses. Together.

“ The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”- Socrates
