Alongside.com, an innovative recruitment marketing platform, has developed a sophisticated deep-machine learning Match Indicator Algorithm (MIA) that can screen out “Tech Bros” who apply for jobs.

The screening process…

  • Flags words like hustle, grind, disrupt.
  • Scans social media for images of gym selfies and flat brimmed hats.
  • Checks to see if they publicly endorse brands like Soylent and Chubbies.
  • Refers to past jobs as an “ex-[insert cool company]” in cover letter.
  • Scans for shares of motivational videos with hashtags #noexcuses #nopainnogain.
  • Mentions in their cover letter that they had one or more startups in “stealth-mode” or called themselves the “Uber of X.”

And in an effort for fairness to the bros, all rejected applications will be diverted to the Tech Bro centric ride-sharing company automatically.

The algorithm has also been shockingly effective at identifying Junior Tech Bros proactively.
