This is Single Sign-On (SSO) and what it means for our clients

Simplifying the login process

Single Sign-On (SSO) is now offered in ALP SaaS, making user access both easier and more secure.

SSO allows users to access ALP SaaS with an external identity provider. Whether the client company uses usernames, emails, keycards or facial recognition, with SSO, users log in only once per session.

That means clients won’t deal with juggling usernames and passwords when trying to access their databases. SSO creates a seamless transition between work environments, giving way to less password fatigue and less time spent working with support to recover forgotten passwords.

For users, SSO appears seamless.

Behind the scenes, the service users are attempting to access checks with a separate identity provider to ensure the validity of their credentials.

For ALP SaaS, that means as a user accesses the ALP SaaS application, an authentication check happens in the background between our application and the user’s identity provider. An identity provider is an online service that authenticates users with security tokens. The security token supported by ALP SaaS is Okta SAML 2.0 (Security Assertion Markup Language, pronounced “sam-el”).

With SSO, that credential authentication process happens in the place of standard login screens as users navigate to distinct web platforms. SSO simplifies the access process for everyone.
