Alpaca releases “Alpaca Index Service”
AlpacaJapan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Alpaca”) is pleased to announce the release of the uniquely designed Alpaca Index Service (hereinafter referred to as “AIS”), and the launch of a customizable Diversified ETF Index Family that utilizes cutting-edge technology powered by Asset Allocation AI.
AIS
AIS is a web-viewable index service uniquely designed by Alpaca which allows clients to track the performance of various investment strategies. Asset Allocation AI, based on Alpaca’s extensive AI and quantitative research, calculates the most efficient allocations, enabling it to respond to a variety of investment targets and objectives.
All of Alpaca’s indices published today show both the back-tested, and live results from July 2021 onwards, putting the information at your fingertips and making it easy to track the performance over time.
In addition, Alpaca has stored the history of all asset allocations as encrypted hash values in the Bitcoin blockchain. These tamper-proof and timestamped records prove Alpaca’s solid live performance, and provide transparency.

Diversified ETF Index Family
For the release of AIS, Alpaca has published a Diversified ETF Index Family that invests in 10 US ETFs, including stocks, bonds, and commodities. In designing the index, Alpaca created three equally weighted benchmarks — Aggressive, Balanced, and Conservative — and applied Alpaca’s AI models to them. Within each benchmark we selected three points on the efficient frontier corresponding to three levels of risk tolerance — Higher, Medium, and Lower — constructing a total of nine indices, which are rebalanced for optimal allocation. The performance of each index can be viewed on AIS.
To meet the needs of investors, every aspect of Alpaca’s indices can be fully customized, from the financial instruments included in the index, to the strength of the AI. In the future, we plan to release not only US ETFs, but also Japanese ETFs, individual stocks in Japan and the US, and a variety of AI-powered indices including all types of global assets.
