On April 14, AlpacaTech held an in-house workshop for all internal employees. The event was aimed at promoting team building and enhancing communication between members. This was the first time for everyone to get together after the company spin-off 9 months ago.

Yoshida Junichi, the division manager from AI Business dapartment, decided to organize this workshop with clear objectives in mind. The main objectives are to promote team building and mutual understanding, to gather innovative ideas for bettering the work environment, and to enhance the corporate identity. He wanted to encourage participants to communicate, build trust, share ideas, and implement them.

Opening: CEO Yotsumoto’s remarks

“I would like to ask everyone to speak freely about various aspects of AlpacaTech in order to make it a more enjoyable and stronger company. I would also like to actively incorporate what we can do.”

Group work: starting from self-introduction

We were able to interact with people we don’t usually interact with in our daily work, and some of whom we had never met face-to-face before.

How Can We Become a Better & Stronger Company? What we want to have in our new joiner hand-book?

We discussed and brainstormed ideas on what a good and strong company should be doing in the following areas:

  1. Leadership and Empowerment
  2. Teamwork and Collaboration
  3. Innovation and New Business
  4. Employees’ Growth
  5. Productivity Improvement
  6. Information Transparency and Sharing

The ideas gathered in the workshop will be reviewed and evaluated by the participants, and the Board of Directors will initiate actions for the selected proposals. The ultimate goal is to create a space where employees feel a sense of purpose and motivation in their work, and one that is attractive to outsiders.

At the end, CEO Yotsumoto showed his interested 5 proposals:

1.Mentorship(Growth)
2.Gym Fee Support(Wellbeing)
3.4Days Work(Creativity)
4.Udemy Video(Info Transparency/Sharing)
5.Bonus Incentive(Motivation)

“We believe that events like this are not only great for our employees but also help to create a positive corporate culture,” added Yotsu. “We look forward to hosting more events in the future and strengthening the bond between our employees.”

In addition to the above ideas, there are many other impressive ideas that have been proposed. We will continue to work together across departments to direct an effort to implement some of these proposals.

The workshop was well-attended by employees from different departments and was a great opportunity for them to interact and get to know each other better. When CTO Alexelis learned that one accounting staff was good at photography and video editing, he asked her to participate in the Udemy video project. This kind of cross-departmental collaboration is one of the most appealing aspects of AlpacaTech.

In addition, we are glad to see that every person is thinking about what they can contribute to making the company better, strong, and impressive. One of the employees on the engineering team proposed that we solve the internal corporate pain points using AI and tech from the engineering side. Everyone agreed that by collaborating between the corporate and business sides, we can create an environment where people get to strive for their full potential.

Finally, we believe that the diverse backgrounds and nationalities of the members allowed for a variety of ideas to be generated and for more impactful discussions to take place during this workshop. We are happy that our employees have chosen to work for AlpacaTech among many other companies in the world.
