Meet Alpaca’s New Analyst — Noah Williams
Who are you?
I’m Noah — the newest member of Alpaca’s investment team covering Web3 and emerging tech. Prior to joining Alpaca, I managed the investment process and accelerator program at Blue Startups, a venture accelerator in Honolulu, Hawaii. Much of my early career (including my path into working on deals) came from product and engineering roles at startups where I was often the first outside hire. Until now, my venture deal experiences have focused primarily on the accelerator and pre-seed stages, so joining Alpaca has been a fantastic opportunity to get up to speed with what’s happening at the next level.
Outside of work I’m an avid home cook, musician and ocean-enthusiast (surfing, bodysurfing — really anything in the water.)
Why Alpaca?
In getting to know Alpaca and its team, here’s what I’ve seen and experienced so far that I really like:
(1) Everyone on the team works independently and has a lot of latitude, yet collaboration happens openly and often.
(2) Working at the seed stage is faster and with a higher due-diligence bar. It’s also just…cool.
(3) The team is composed of friendly and open people who are willing to help and share what they know.
(4) The thematic investment process opens lots of opportunities to branch out into new focus areas.
(5) I have the unique opportunity to be part of the firm while also serving entrepreneurs and the technology ecosystem here locally in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What’s next?
In the early days of this new role, it’s been exciting to begin planning our objectives for the year ahead. Across the board, I’m looking forward to supporting the firm on new deals, meeting entrepreneurs and investors throughout the startup ecosystem and continuing to learn, experiment, and play with new technologies that will make life better.
