Content Creation Can Turn Your Passion Into A Tedious Job
Keep that in mind before you quit your day job to pursue your hobby full time
This was the best article I read this week:
Creating good content is hard. Consistently creating engaging content week after week is even harder and can be crushingly tedious sometimes.
From the outside looking in, content creation might seem like a cushy job. You set your own hours, you do things you’re interested in (e.g. travel), and you get paid. Sounds awesome right?
Given that many corporate jobs are at best tangential to your hobbies, being a content creator is for most people as close as it gets to getting paid to do what you love.
The part that most people miss (and that you only find out from experience) is that when you’re doing something for money, everything changes. Even when it’s something you love. It transforms from doing it because you feel like it and you enjoy it to doing it because if you don’t you won’t be able to make rent.
