Trump Seems Like He’s Willing To Sacrifice The Stock Market This Time Around
His stupid policies are increasing economic and market volatility so get ready to bargain hunt

During his prior presidency, Donald Trump cared about the stock market. He mistakenly saw it as a barometer of the effectiveness of his policies and leadership.
So when stocks went up he crowed and when stocks went down he put pressure on the Fed to lower rates.
But last presidency he was not secure in his position as undisputed top dog of the Republican Party. He was surrounded by folks who (rightfully) thought of him as an imbecile. And so the rising stock market was his way of saying look I know what I’m doing.
Now he’s completely secure in his position. This time he’s no longer looking for approval. Four years of hero worship by his party and cult during Biden’s presidency have convinced him that this time around he’s can do whatever he wants.
And what he wants is a return to nationalism and imperialism where those with the biggest armies get the most say— annexing Greenland, trade wars with our geographic neighbors, using peace treaties to extract resource deals…
