AlphaWallet July Release Notes

It’s a 0xPolygon rockstar kind of version.

This release is a lovesong dedication to the Network Formerly Known as Matic. The latest rockstar network on the block. One that has every redditor asking What is Polygon? One that has every deFI fat finger whale hitting that Polygon-previously-Matic Bridge. Since this mainnet became part of the AlphaWallet family in April, we hamster engineers and polygon specialist support have been busy keeping up with the meteoric explosion !

Polygon (formerly called MATIC) and The Artist Formerly Known as Prince both share a love of purple.

TL;DR You asked, we answered. When you hit that Matic Bridge inside the AlphaWallet Browser, this release makes sure you have the smoothest Polygon interoperability on your favourite DEX like QuickSwap, UniSwap and more. Happy deFi’ing! 💸

✨ What’s New

• Token Data reset option: we introduced a new button under Settings>Advanced to clear and repopulate all token data, so it’s easier for advanced power users to refresh all tokens.

🤕 Improvements

• Optimised Matic bridge support: we worked with the Polygon team to ensure smooth Matic Bridge interoperability in the AlphaWallet dApp Browser
• Updated RPC endpoints for Polygon, xDAI, Optimism nodes: better speed and stability in picking up your transactions on the node.
• IPFS Metadata support: you’ll see more of your NFT images inside your wallet as we expand file formats!

🐜 Fixes

• Other bug fixes for ERC721 and app performance optimization
• Android SDK code update to latest standards.

We’ve supported our friends at Polygon from the very beginning since mainnet launch April 17. As DevStreet irons out the kinks, you can see CryptoStreet explodes on the Polygon Matic Bridge as more and more DEXs begin to support the network. We think there’ll be another wave of new users as see new dApps development shift over to build on Polygon rpc.
