Imagine Grand Theft Auto Built On A Blockchain Network

Sin City is a decentralized virtual open-world metaverse that’s designed as an immersive social play-to-earn experience. Combining elements of SimCity, Grand Theft Auto, and online casinos, Sin City is being developed as an empire-building & role-playing game where virtual entrepreneurs can masquerade as racketeering kingpins or hedonistic participators.

The landscape of this metaverse is based on areas that are infamous for their underworld activities and lively happenings, pulling inspiration from real-world cities like Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro. With opportunities for virtual real estate development, business ownership, organized crime, gambling, and more, Sin City offers players a safe space to let loose online while potentially earning valuable cryptocurrency in the process.

The Real Estate Metaverse

Sin City is being launched with a world-building foundation wherein 15,000 parcels of digital land will be auctioned off to players. Players can then develop the land they purchase using SKD kits. These developments can take the form of virtual nightclubs, casinos, or any other entrepreneurial venture that the landowners desire.

Players can continuously buy, sell, and develop land as they please. While the Sin City team hasn’t laid out any restrictions on parcel development, we assume that nearly any type of enterprise will eventually be allowed provided it abides by both real-world and in-game laws (whatever those might be). The only game-based goals that Sin City has planned out as of now are to “become rich, become infamous, and become a kingpin.” Essentially, they want players to strive to build exuberant and exciting empires using either organized crime or strategic capitalism (essentially the same approach ;) ).

Sin City’s Story Mode

As is the case with Grant Theft Auto and other open-world role-playing games, Sin City will have an ongoing “native game” that can be thought of as their version of a “Story Mode”. They plan to have their native game “laced with violence and gore” and the primary goal for gamers will be to conquer and control the entire Sin City metaverse.

The foundation of their gaming ecosystem is being developed with Vulcan Forged, an open-world massive multiplayer online role-playing game developer (MMORPG). Vulcan Forged clearly has a development team already in place that is capable of delivering realistic virtual gaming experiences built atop blockchain technology. For the transactional side of things, Sin City is partnering with the Matic Network, a payment and settlement unit built within the Polygon network that’s designed to handle gasless currency exchanges within a fast-paced digital environment.

The Sin City team has a goal of making their metaverse into a sort elevated and R-rated version of Second Life. They plan to incorporate realistic imagery, virtual and augmented reality elements, and voice & text interaction features to create a truly immersive experience. While the prospect of earning actual cryptocurrency will certainly attract a large number of players, the entertaining and engaging gameplay will likely keep them hooked and coming back for more.

Play-to-Earn with Virtual Casinos

For its initial launch, Sin City plans to have a central virtual casino located in their digitized version of Las Vegas. This will be built on “the Matic layer” allowing fast-paced transactions to occur without any gas fees. Their foundational casino appears to be a jumping-off point where users will eventually be able to pull from its suite of social betting dApps like Poker, BlackJack, and other forms of P2P betting systems.

The Sin City casino will be built and owned by the Vanilla Network and will use the $VNLA token as its playable currency. Players will have the opportunity to gamble $VNLA tokens within a small selection of casino-based games. The actually native game token, $SIN, will initially be used for all other transactions throughout the Sin City metaverse, including land deals, development, and other forms of interactive gameplay.
