Remi Wolf’s “Soup” rises to the top from #4 last week in its fourth week of release. It’s part of her critically acclaimed album Big Ideas, released on July 12, 2024, through Island Records. “Soup” was included on several high-profile curated playlists this week including Spotify’s “alt/pop,” “Front Page Indie,” “Lorem,” “NEW Indie / Alternative” and “The New Alt.” The track was also included on Apple Music’s “Alt Pop” and Deezer’s “New Alternative” playlists.

#6 Soccer Mommy — “M”

Soccer Mommy’s “M” debuts at #6 this week, the second single from Sophie Allison’s latest album, Evergreen, set for release on October 25, 2024, via Loma Vista Recordings. The album follows her critically acclaimed 2022 release, Sometimes, Forever. The music video for “M” was directed by Anna Pollack and was recorded at Atlanta’s Maze Studios with producer Ben H. Allen III. This track follows the earlier single “Lost,” which is Evergreen’s opening track.

#10 Father John Misty — “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All”

Father John Misty enters the chart at #10 with “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All.” This new single is from his upcoming compilation album Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams And My Dreams Said To Crawl, set for physical release on August 16, 2024, via Bella Union. “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All” closes the compilation and is also expected to feature on a new album coming later this year. The music video for the track was directed by frequent collaborator Grant James, known for his work on Misty’s previous videos. Father John Misty, whose real name is Josh Tillman, has been performing the song live since 2019.

#13 Haley Heynderickx — “Seed of a Seed”

Haley Heynderickx debuts at #13 with “Seed of a Seed,” her first new song in six years. This track marks a significant return for the singer-songwriter, following her acclaimed debut album, I Need to Start a Garden (2018). The release of “Seed of a Seed” coincides with her announcement of a full U.S. headline tour, running from September through November 2024, including a performance at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco.

#16 Jack White — “That’s How I’m Feeling”

Jack White debuts at #16 with “That’s How I’m Feeling,” a track from his newly announced album No Name, released on August 2, 2024. Known for his work with The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather, White has had a prolific solo career. The album was initially distributed at Third Man Records stores, where customers received free unmarked vinyl copies.

Jamie xx reunites with The Avalanches on “All You Children” from his long-awaited sophomore album, In Waves, at #24. Magdalena Bay’s “Tunnel Vision” debuts at #26, following the #7 peak of “Image.” Snail Mail’s “Tonight, Tonight,” a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ song, enters at #29, and was originally recorded for the film I Saw The TV Glow, with Lindsey Jordan of Snail Mail playing a supporting role. Suki Waterhouse’s “Blackout Drunk,” from her forthcoming double album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, set for release on September 13 via Sub Pop, enters at #32. Post-rock band Foxing and new indie-rock supergroup the Hard Quartet enter along with established legends Janes Addiction and The Smashing Pumpkins.
