Altcoin News: Bitcoin Blockchain Stores over 400 Million Transactions

April 10, 2019, by Marko Vidrih on ALTCOIN MAGAZINE

Today, the number of transactions in the Bitcoin blockchain has exceeded 400 million. It happened on the block number 570 761.

Over the ten years of its existence, Bitcoin has become the most popular cryptocurrency in the world and it remains to this day. Despite all the ups and downs of the cryptocurrency market, the number of transactions continues to increase despite the limitations associated with the block size and transaction fees.

Note that 400 million transactions are recorded in the blockchain. That is, the number of transactions, including those conducted using out-of-network scaling solutions, such as the Lightning Network, is even greater.

Interestingly, recently the number of transactions in the Bitcoin blockchain has increased significantly. On April 2nd was recorded 401 thousand transactions. This is not much less than the record level recorded on December 14, 2017, when the number of transactions exceeded 490 thousand. That day was a turning point for a Bitcoin bull trend.

According to the head of the popular cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Brian Armstrong, for the adoption of cryptocurrencies, it is necessary to reduce their volatility. But Elizabeth White (an author and aging advocate for older adults facing uncertain work and in financial jeopardy) still believes that Bitcoin and other crypto active assets will not be able to surpass the traditional financial system.
