A consulting firm from the Big Four Deloitte conducts a test in its division in Luxembourg, offering employees to pay with Bitcoin in the dining room.

“We think it’s good to have our employees assess this new technology,” said Laurent Colle, partner at Deloitte Luxembourg, in a conversation with the local Luxembourg Times. He also noted that the company currently does not have plans to provide access to bitcoin payments to its customers.

Colle explained that the company’s priority is to use blockchain in asset management, and not to use the payment function of Bitcoin. According to him, innovations of this kind can simplify the conduct of audits and eliminate intermediaries from the process.

“It is precisely on this that our attention is now focused: to combine new technology with the needs of business in Luxembourg,” he added.

Whether the employees have to wait until the transaction receives confirmation, which is normal practice for any cryptocurrency payments, and the process was technically adjusted, the company did not specify.

However, another major consulting firm — PwC — recently announced that it would really allow its customers to pay with Bitcoins.
