Altcoin News: Sportsbook Giant Accepts Bitcoin Deposits

FanDuel, the sportsbook giant, will offer Bitcoin deposits, according to a BitPay press release.
BitPay, a provider of Bitcoin payments, announced that FanDuel customers can now also bet with Bitcoins. FanDuel is a sportsbook company and is part of the FanDuel Group, which consists of a portfolio of leading brands. These include the areas of gaming, sports betting, daily fantasy sports, prepayment betting and TV/media.
Bitcoin deposits can be made on a computer or mobile device to bet on games. This move is not FanDuel’s first outing into the Bitcoin world. In 2018, the company announced a fantasy football competition in which the winners were rewarded with Bitcoins.
“FanDuel has always sought to deliver the most unique and rewarding experiences or prizes to our users,” said FanDuel CFO Andy Giancamilli. “In awarding Bitcoin, we’re recognizing that most of our users are early adopters of technology and have a significant interest in cryptocurrency. Our fans love the prizing aspect of playing on our site and we think this will be a reward that they truly appreciate.”
